Highlights of the Menu

  • Smalec with Bread: This starter has received rave reviews, with patrons like Rachael Stanley singing its praises. It is an indulgent kick-off to your meal that sets the tone for the delightful dishes to follow.
  • Potato Pancakes: A nostalgic dish that evokes the warmth of home-cooked meals reminiscent of Rachael's Prussian-born grandmother. Crispy on the outside and fluffy within, these pancakes are a must-try.

What a find! Visited with friends who have been before and I was really impressed. The food was lovely and the drink selection really varied. I particularly loved the smalec served with bread as a starter. Definitely recommend the place for something different, but delicious. Potato pancakes were just like my Prussian born grandmother used to make x

I highly recommend this restaurant. We visited friends in Doncaster and chose The City Restaurant because it accepts dogs. The food was delicious, we ordered beef goulash, Wiener schnitzel and for dessert Eton Mess. The dishes were delicious, perfect in every detail. I also recommend the drinks, very tasty and nicely presented. The service was very nice and polite. The dog could lie down peacefully, without disturbing anyone, the staff brought water for the dog as soon as we entered, which was really nice. Very nice decor. I highly recommend this restaurant, we will definitely go back there!Kid-friendliness: The place is child-friendly, we were there with our -year-old son who really enjoyed the food.

Best place I've been to in Doncaster for a while! I never do reviews but I haven't heated anyone recommend this place before. Me and my girlfriend went because they allow dogs. The food is amazing and the service is better. They gave my dog some complimentary food cooked by the chef!!! We were blown away by the hospitality and quality of food. Would recommend to anyone. P.s. the menu inside has more selection than the one posted online.
